Garden Design Surrey - A Selection of Garden Designs in Surrey

This garden design in in Woking, Surrey transformed a long, narrow, uninviting space into a welcoming country garden with different areas to enjoy at various times of the day. It also provided the client, who loves gardening, with somewhere to pursue her passion without a huge maintenance burden. 

 

The space was split into different outdoor rooms connected by a series of curved level changes and turf steps. The garden is softened with lots of blowsy perennial planting as well as shrubs, trees and a native hedgerow for wildlife. A sunny evening terrace area enclosed with a curved, clipped Hornbeam hedge. This garden has structure, but is also soft and natural, blending well with it's surroundings. 

This garden design in Hindhead, Surrey is still a work in progress. It is on a very steep site where a new house in a contemporary style is being constructed very tight up to the boundaries. 

 

I have designed the garden to make use of all the space and to reflect the contemporary style of the house. We had to construct some very high retaining walls to create the flat area for the house. At the rear we used the retaining walls to house an outdoor kitehcn, a built in bench seat with a metal pergola, a hot tub terrace with a water feature, a moon-gate seat with a view to the garden area behind. The front includes terraced planting a resin-bound gravel driveway, a custom steel and granite entrance staircase, and custom stainless steel baluastrades and hand rails.
